The Baltic countriesIn October of 2004, a Nordic delegation representing the five Nordic Documentation Centres for language technology in Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland, visited the Baltic countries Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The delegation travelled under the auspices of NorFA with members from both NorFA and the Nordic Language Technology Programme. The purpose of the visit was, on the one hand, to learn about current activities and players in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and on the other hand, to present the documentation centres and explore the possibilities for establishing contacts in this area, for future project collaboration and for immediate inclusion of links to Baltic information on the NorDokNet portal. The programme also included collaboration within the areas of research and ph.d.-students through the Nordic Graduate School of Language Technology, NGSLT.
